Classification

The following references will be reviewed by the staff for classifying players:
  • National player rating in the following organizations:  NSA, ASA, USSSA (local player ratings will not be considered)
  • Skills Assessment Rating (offense, defense, power, speed, and arm) for stand out players rated below their skill set
Our database contains ratings for three National organizations, so there might be multiple ratings and name variations for players. The HIGHEST rating will be used in our program....NO EXCEPTION. If there are multiple players with the same name, the manager will have to submit a Date of Birth for the player in question.
We reserve the right to reclassify any team or player rated below their skill set.
Appeals
Appeals for D rated players will not be accepted. If a player (C or above) would like to appeal their classification, the player appeal must be emailed by the TEAM MANAGER along with a current team roster (send email to nsasocal@gmail.com). The staff will review the following:
  • Player history (up to 3 yrs) in all National organizations
  • Reason for current classification (mandatory vs local)
  • Skill Assessment Rating (offense, defense, power, speed, and arm)
  • Current team strength (will not affect reclassification, but might affect whether the player can be included on a roster)
The staff will review and vote on the appeal within 5 business days. The manager will be given a summary of our decision with the player assessment. If a player is not recognized by the staff, we will allow a player to play on a roster as a chip only if the roster isn't deemed too strong. We will evaluate the player at our event and give the manager a summary of the player assessment at the end of the tournament.
Reclassified players are restricted to their current team's roster. If a player desires to join another team, the player must be released by their current manager and/or our staff. Once a player is released from a roster, they will not be allowed to return to the same roster. Any manager acquiring a new reclassified player must get approval from our staff.

We reserve the right to reverse appeals based on new findings not available to us at the time the appeal was approved.
